CEDC News – Spring 2024

What We Do

The Circular Economy Development Center is the nucleus of circular solutions. Focused on business, the Circular Economy Development Center helps companies transform wasteful linear consumption models to circular ones by:

  • Facilitating solutions to redesign and re-manufacture products, resources and materials
  • Co-creating new, innovative circular business models
  • Offering business and economic development expertise
  • Coalescing sectors to form collaborative solutions

Why Does Business Need Circularity?

Watch for a webinar from the CEDC this summer explaining what lifecycle assessments, environmental product declarations, and environmental health and safety may mean for your business.

Project Highlight

Expanding End Markets

It is estimated that Coloradans generate 80,000 – 86,000 tons of waste tires annually. Additionally, Colorado has one of the highest stockpiles of scrap tires in the U.S. When developing end markets for waste tires, the challenges in Colorado include the demand for recycled tire products and the limited secondary processing infrastructure.

The Colorado company Pretred makes recycled rubber barriers from waste tires, which can replace cement barriers. The CEDC is working with Pretred to further develop their circular economy solution.
